The Cardiology Clinic of Arrhythmias - Electrophysiology and Pacing is staffed by distinguished, experienced and highly trained cardiologists. Its physicians are specialized in the field of arrhythmology and cardiac electrophysiology after postgraduate training in foreign certified centers of excellence and bring experience from their many years of activity in private, public and university hospitals in Greece and in hospitals abroad. The clinic's physicians hold European Certification in Interventional Cardiac Electrophysiology, Cardiac Pacing and Implantable Cardiac Defibrillators from the European Heart Rhythm Association (EHRA) and provide scientifically sound, high quality medical services. In addition, the clinic actively participates in Greek and international scientific congresses and presents papers and scientific research in international scientific journals.
The Clinic aims to provide timely and correct diagnosis, treatment and therapy of all cardiac arrhythmias, with tools and methods ranging from basic physical clinical examination and electrocardiography to complex interventional procedures. In particular, the following are carried out:
- cardiac arrhythmias outpatient clinic (patient diagnostic evaluation and management)
- pacemaker and defibrillator testing and programming outpatient clinic
- atrial fibrillation / atrial tachycardia / atrial flutter electrical cardioversion
- Tilt table testing for the investigation of syncopal episodes
- drug testing for the diagnosis of Brugada Syndrome
- electrophysiological studies (investigation of syncope, differential diagnosis of tachyarrhythmias, risk stratification for sudden cardiac death)
- Therapeutic interventional procedures for the treatment of bradyarrhythmias and tachyarrythmias
- pacemaker implantation (pacemakers, conduction system pacing / left bundle branch area pacing, leadless pacemakers)
- defibrillator implantation (defibrillators, subcutaneous defibrillators S – ICDs)
- biventricular defibrillator / pacemaker implantation (for the treatment of heart failure)
- atrial fibrillation ablation with all 3 internationally established methods (point by point RadioFrequency ablation, Cryoablation, Pulsed Field Ablation)
- ablation procedures for supraventricular tachycardias (atrial tachycardias/flutters, atrioventricular nodal re-entry tachycardia - AVNRT, accessory pathways – Wolff Parkinson White syndrome / atrioventricular re-entry tachycardia AVRT)
- ablation of ventricular arrhythmias (ventricular extrasystoles, ventricular tachycardias)
- cardioneuroablation procedures for patients with vasovagal reflex syncopes and extrinsic vagally induced bradyarrhythmias
- Left atrial appendage closure (percutaneous transcatheter implantation of left atrial appendage closure devices)
The priority of the clinic’s doctors is to provide health services in accordance with the latest scientific data, the guidelines of the European and American Societies of Cardiology and personalized medicine (precision medicine) with respect and understanding of human needs, personal characteristics and the clinical profile of each patient. The diagnostic and therapeutic methods applied are fully harmonized with the highest international standards and the clinic operates as a center of excellence using the most modern techniques and technological developments within the framework of the great capabilities of the Metropolitan General Hospital in terms of means and infrastructure.
